13.5.2020Citroen launches ?-Dispatch electric van
Citroen has launched the ?-Dispatch, the French firm's latest pure-electric van, offering up to 205 miles on a single charge.
The ?-Dispatch follows on from PSA Group stable-mate Vauxhall's recent Vivaro-e launch, and shares the van's platform. This means Citroen is also offering a choice of two battery sizes.
A 50 kWh pack will allow for a 143 mile range on a charge, whilst the 75 kWh battery offers the headline 205 mile range. Either will power a 100 kW electric motor.
The option of battery sizes will help bring customer in, with those covering shorter, more local distances likely to be covered by the 50 kWh battery. Pricing has not yet been announced for UK models, but the 50 kWh model will certainly cost less than the 75 kWh ?-Dispatch.
A choice of two on-board chargers will also be available for further tailoring of customers' requirements. A 7.4 kW on-board charger will be fitted as standard, though this can be upgraded to 11 kW as an option. The ?-Dispatch is also able to be charged at up to 100 kW on ultra-rapid DC charge points.
Load levels are identical to internal combustion versions of the Dispatch, and there is a choice of three body sizes - XS, M, and XL. The 50 kWh pack will not be available on XL models in the UK.
Customers will be able to carry a payload of up to 1,275 kg - depending on specification - though the lowest payload rating is 1,000 kg.
A familiar suite of EV functions will be fitted. These include pre-conditioning, timed charging, regenerative braking, and three driving modes - Eco, Normal, and Power. Remote control via the MyCitroen app will be available for users.
Citroen is electrifying its range of vehicles for commercial use, with the ?-Dispatch launched today (Wednesday 13th May), followed by an electric version of the Relay later this year and a new electric Berlingo next year. The ?-Dispatch will reach showrooms in the second half of 2020.
